The Eastchester Environmental Committee has planned an environmental achievement awards program that recognizes individuals, businesses, community groups, students, government entities or other organizations that conduct or participate in activities that benefit the community’s environment.   

    
  ü Recycling and use of recycled materials  ü Pollution prevention ü Waste reduction ü Protection of the natural environment ü Enhancement of the natural environment ü Organizing Cleanup of litter or debris ü Storm water mitigation  ü Environmental education or increasing awareness of environmental alternatives ü Monitoring the condition of the town’s environment (streams, habitat, etc.) ü Supporting the Environmental Committee ü Activities focusing on any of the 3 R’s (Reduce / Reuse / Recycle)
